Sofia Romero grew up in Brighton, but since then has travelled around the world, gaining inspiration from a clash of cultures- her ethnic roots in Mexico, combined with English upbringing. Sofia studied Sculpture BA at Camberwell College of Art in London, where she mainly worked in the medium of Textiles Art. She also began making jewellery in her final year.
Sofia draws inspiration from the vivid and vibrant colours of the places she has visited and lived in, mainly Mexico as well as her love of nature, wildlife and prehistoric flora and fauna.
¨There is nothing more fulfilling for me than to create something with my hands and using my imagination, to tune out of life's every day stresses and focus on being in the moment with my artwork¨.
