Growing up, Simon was surrounded by an artistic family. This sparked his interest in art and design from an early age. In the early 90's he left his studies in architecture to go to art college.
The built environment and a strong passion and natural ability for geometrical perspective systems, vibrant colour schemes and design play a big part in Simons continuing artistic direction. Many of his paintings are inspired by his interest in philosophy and the universal forces that waver on the brink between dark and light.
The metaphysical paintings of Georgio De Chirico, the mathematical surrealist approach of M.C. Escher and the stunning use of colour employed by expressionists like August Macke have been great inspirations and influences on Simons work.
