Adam De Ville is a self taught artist based in Kent, UK. His current landscapes whimsically capture views of the British Isles.
His unique and attention-grabbing work led his inclusion in 2019 “Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Portrait Prize Exhibition”, 2021 “Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours Annual Exhibition” (Winner Dry Red Press Award) and the “Bath Society of Artists Annual Exhibition 2021”.
”I prefer to begin a painting with a strong idea, but then see where the moment takes me. Some of the work is more deliberate, but I aim to keep an element of risk or chance. I love finding a face for the first time, or a place caught in the moment. I don’t have any particular limit on subject matter, but I like exploring familiar aspects of popular culture and reoccurring themes of displacement and belonging. Storytelling is an essential part of the work.”
Adam’s body of work is diverse and includes portrait, cityscape and figurative.
