ART5 Gallery is delighted to announce Love Dances Here, a solo exhibition of work by sought-after Devon-based artist Yvonne Coomber! This highly-anticipated annual event is the perfect introduction to spring, showcasing an exclusive new collection of the artist’s signature glittering floral paintings, alongside a selection of brand new limited edition prints.

We’re also excited to present Yvonne’s new range of ‘linen meadows’, a collection of paintings where Yvonne’s signature colourful style is fused with a sense of simplicity, for a more mellow and spacious look, where the paint can breathe and sing.

After gaining a degree in Philosophy and Literature at Brighton University, Yvonne went on to study Fine Art in Sussex, broadening her artistic ability and immersion into the world of painting. Over the last decade, she has established herself as a highly collectable artist, with her paintings becoming instantly recognisable worldwide.

Yvonne’s love of nature and the English countryside deeply influences her work, often painting in the depths of the Devonshire meadows to draw immediate inspiration from the picturesque surroundings. She captures the chaotic yet harmonious energy within nature, whilst bringing warmth and joy to the canvas.

Yvonne beautifully blends various materials to create layer upon layer of tactile texture, adding another dimension to her captivating paintings. The glitter, reminiscent of early morning dew, the vibrant colours conjuring the kaleidoscopic palette of wild places, and the delicate scattering of flowers come together organically in her unique artistic vision.

‘After the phenomenal successes of her previous solo shows with us, we’re delighted to be hosting ‘Love Dances Here’, an exciting exhibition of acclaimed artist Yvonne Coomber. Her paintings are increasingly sought-after, and we’re proud to have been the foremost exhibitor of Yvonne’s work in the South for the past decade.’ Gallery manager Melissa Luckhurst remarks.

Visit this exclusive exhibition and lose yourself in Yvonne’s romantic collection of enchanting paintings!

Love Dances Here is a free exhibition running from 7th to 15th April.

We’re delighted to have a brand new collection by artist Alexandra Bex at ART5 Gallery!

Alexandra completed her studies at the Berkshire & Chelsea Schools of Art, later joining the film industry and working as a Background Artist for animated films, working on projects such as The Snowman to ‘The Tales of Beatrix Potter’, amongst others. It was during this period that she developed her painting style, whilst working on TV programmes, films and adverts. Since leaving the film industry, Alexandra has been committed to her artwork, showing in galleries and art shows in the UK and abroad for over a decade.

The initial inspiration for her work comes from the powerful and evocative use of colour, shape and texture, seen in her atmospheric cityscapes. Her use of texture and a monochromatic colour palette infuse her semi-abstract landmark paintings with the energy of the city, with touches of shimmer and sparkle.

‘With this latest collection of paintings which are mainly monochrome, I did not want to produce a photo-realistic representation of the scene in front of me, but rather an impression of various landmarks, working on the canvas using acrylics, texture and collage. This enabled me to create an exciting balance of space, movement and depth.’
