ART5 Gallery is thrilled to exhibit local artist Nate Cordery's sumptuous paintings of our hometown, Brighton!

Nate Cordery was born in Sussex in 1980. This artist has always been passionate and enthused by his joy of painting and drawing since being a young boy. Having committed to painting at the age of 32, Nate has grown into a varied and talented artist. Nate developed his artistic learning when he moved to Cornwall for a short time, living between St.Ives and Newlyn. As a member of the St.Ives School of Art, he followed in the Cornish and Newlyn example of 'en plein air' landscape painting, painting outdoors and on location in all weathers.

Now living in Brighton on the Sussex coast, Nate continues to practice outdoor landscape painting. A frequenter of the local Sussex South Downs Way, he is often found within the scenery attempting to capture the 'spirit of place'. Brighton and Hove city also offers a wealth of pictorial opportunities for Nate in the form of urban street scenes.

Nate is continually evolving as an artist. Practised in subjects from portraiture, still life & abstraction, he draws from a wide range of influences whilst reinterpreting with his own vision. A modern and dynamic style unique to himself, it's not certain which way his work will progress. What is certain is this prolific artist's energetic approach will continue to be accompanied by a marked enthusiasm and a growing depth of knowledge and aptitude.
